COVID Conduct

The Organizing Committee intends to take health and safety precautions regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic to keep all those attending safe. We recognize that national and state guidelines change rapidly, and we intend to keep up to date with all measures with Colorado School of Mines and the State to allow our symposium to remain in-person. Therefore, we will monitor the most recent guidelines up to the day of the conference and expect all those registered and attending to adhere to those rules.

In alignment with Colorado School of Mines policy, in order to operate on campus, all in-person attendees MUST be vaccinated.

The symposium will be held indoors for both oral and poster presentations. As a precautionary measure, it will be required to wear masks indoors during the event. Oral presenters may remove their mask while presenting if they desire. After their presentation has concluded, presenters are asked to wear their mask again for the remainder of the indoor portion of the symposium. Sanitizing stations will be available throughout the conference. Attendees are encouraged to practice social distancing when appropriate and to use best judgement practices to keep themselves and others safe. These practices extend to eating and drinking; masks may be temporarily removed, but after finishing attendees are encouraged to redon their masks. Lastly, the symposium reception will take place at an outdoor venue, where mask wearing is optional, but encouraged as an additional safety precaution.
