The Rocky Mountain Geobiology Symposium is intended to be a place where everyone can feel welcome, included, and safe. Behavior or actions that prevent this will not be tolerated and should be reported to one of the members of the organizing committee.

Expected Behavior

• Treating others with respect and consideration.

• Communication will be open and critique ideas not the individuals themselves.

• Supporting all participants in the meeting and being fully engaged during the symposium.

Unacceptable Behavior

• Harassment or discrimination.

• Verbal abuse related to gender, religion, race, sexual orientation, or body size. 

• Threats (real or implied) or physical, professional, or financial harm.

• Audio/Video recording or taking images of a participant's oral or poster presentation without permission or consent. Images of posters must be taken with explicit consent of the presenter and acquired only while in their presence.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

• Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to immediately cease and desist.

• Meeting organizers may enact actions such as immediate removal from the meeting at their discretion.

Reporting Unacceptable Behavior

If you are the subject or have witnessed unacceptable behavior, please immediately notify a meeting organizer (Patrick Thieringer pthieringer@mines.edu, Kalen Rasmussen krasmuss@mines.edu, Nicole Masters nmaster@mines.edu, or Alex Honeyman ahoneyman@mines.edu) in person or by email.

Anyone experiencing or witnessing behavior that constitutes an immediate or serious threat to public safety, or a criminal act, is expected to contact 911. Those witnessing a potential criminal act should also take actions necessary to maintain their own personal safety.
